How I find Gold Nugget Keywords

Hi Reader,

Have I ever told you how much I love keyword research?

For some people it’s a dreaded chore… not so for me!

Why do I love it so much?

It’s the thrill of finding Gold Nugget Keywords.

What do I mean by Gold Nugget Keywords?

Gold Nugget Keywords are those keywords that you find where there is lots of volume and very little competition.

A lot of people think those keywords are all long gone, but that’s not true!

I find those hidden gems often – there are absolutely loads still out there for the taking.

In fact, sometimes I am amazed at quite how many undiscovered gems there are!

I have a whole spreadsheet of them.

So how do I find them?

It’s laughably easy.

Here’s my step by step process...

Step 1: The ‘Good Ideas’ Spreadsheet

I keep a spreadsheet of ‘good ideas’. Every time I think of a good idea for a blog post, I add the idea onto the spreadsheet.

That’s it.

Step 2: Basic Keyword Research

Periodically, I go into KeySearch and I type in each of those ‘good idea’ keywords into the Keyword Research Tool.

I note down the volume and the keyword difficulty of each ‘good idea’ keyword.

That’s where a lot of people stop.

But that’s not where I stop.

Step 3: Gold Nugget Mining

As well as giving me the volume and the keyword difficulty score for my chosen keyword, KeySearch also gives me a handy list of related keywords, together with their volume and keyword difficulty scores.

So next I hit the volume sort button at the top, to sort all those related keywords by volume from highest to lowest, and try to find even better keywords… Often those top keywords are also high competition keywords. But not always!

And quite often I strike it lucky… when I hit that volume sort button I find a Gold Nugget Keyword – great volume, surprisingly low competition.

(And by the way, I don’t use KeySearch’s KD score – I use the lowest DA score in the top 10 ranking posts. If someone with a DA of 12 is ranking for that keyword, that tells me I can rank too!)

But that’s not the end of the story.

Now I try variations of my original keyword. And I perform the same ‘volume sort’ trick on those too.

Over and over again…

It might sound tedious, but honestly?

The thrill of the chase drives me…

That thought that I might just stumble on a Gold Nugget Keyword, it drives me…

Probably more than it should...

But oh that buzz when I find a gold nugget 😂

Step 4: Back To The Spreadsheet...

Every gold nugget I find, plus anything else good-but-not-quite-gold-nugget-level, goes on the spreadsheet with the volume and competition numbers from KeySearch.

(As before, volume is volume, but competition is the lowest DA in the Google Top 10.)

And here’s where the magic happens…

Now I assign SCORES for volume and competition to each keyword… 5 for high volume, 1 for low volume… 5 for low competition, 1 for high competition.

And then I sort that spreadsheet by total score (10s at the top, 2s at the bottom)

And, as if by magic, I now have a spreadsheet full of juicy keywords – in the order that I should target them – with my shiniest Gold Nuggets at the top!

And that, my friend, is how you go Gold Nugget Mining… and find those magical high traffic keywords no one else is finding.

Then, all I have to do is write the post and watch as I magically zoom onto page 1 of Google and Google starts sending me crazy good traffic for that keyword.

Want to see some examples?

I recently shared how I earn $1,495 per month… from just THREE keywords that I found recently using this method!

Learn more about that here >>> How to turn $16.80 into $1,495

(And those 3 keywords are not even my best keywords!)

Want to go gold nugget mining too?

If you want to go gold nugget mining too, you need just 2 things…

KeySearch – you can’t do gold nugget mining without KeySearch! (Plus if you use my exclusive coupon code PB30OFF you can get 30% off – honestly, it’s a steal at full price, but why pay full price when you can get 30% off?)

My Keyword Research Calculator – this done-for-you spreadsheet has all the columns you need and some more explanation on what to put where and how to do the sorting.

Happy Gold Nugget Keyword Mining!
