I have no idea what to sell!

Hi Reader,

Have you’ve ever found yourself thinking…

“I’d love to create a digital product… but I have no idea what to sell.”

“I don’t think anyone in my audience would actually pay for something.”

“Everything I could create is already out there – and better!”

If so, you are most definitely NOT alone!

This is one of the most common stumbling blocks I see – and it’s completely understandable.

Most people think that to be successful with digital products, they have to come up with the perfect product idea: something brand new, ground-breaking, and totally unique.

But here’s the twist:

Great digital products don’t usually come from genius ideas.

They come from listening – to your audience, your own experience, and the real-life problems people are trying to solve.

Let’s break that down…

PROBLEM #1: “I’d love to create a digital product… but I have no idea what to sell.”

You’re probably surrounded by potential product ideas already – you just haven’t looked at them through the right lens yet.

Here are 3 questions to start uncovering the value you already have:

1. What are people already coming to you for?

Look through your blog comments, emails, DMs, or even your most popular posts.

What problems do people keep mentioning?

What questions do they ask again and again?

2. What feels easy for you – but hard for others?

We tend to dismiss what comes naturally to us.

But your audience isn’t living inside your brain!

What seems “basic” to you might be exactly what they’re stuck on.

3. What have you solved for yourself?

Often your best product idea is something you wish you’d had two, three or five years ago.

Think back to the niche-related struggles and problems you had a few years ago…

How did you overcome those struggles and problems to get to where you are today?

Could you give your audience the short-cut to get to where you are today?

Could you package that into an ebook, a mini course, or a signature program?

PROBLEM #2: “I don’t think anyone in my audience would actually pay for something.”

This is another big fear: “My audience is used to getting everything for free – why would they pay?”

I understand the concern…

…but it’s almost never true!

Think about your niche for a moment… do those people buy ANYTHING niche related?

Of course they do!

  • If your niche is food – people buy kitchen equipment, ingredients and cookbooks.
  • If your niche is pets – people buy pet food, accessories, insurance, behaviour classes and pet-sitters.
  • If your niche is gardening – people buy plants, seeds and gardening equipment.
  • If your niche is travel – people buy luggage, guidebooks, travel insurance and tours.
  • If your niche is parenting – people buy toys, children’s books, parenting books, ballet lessons, football coaching and English tutors.
  • If your niche is fitness – people buy supplements, workout gear, fitness trackers, and gym memberships.
  • If your niche is home décor – people buy wallpapers, paint, flooring, furniture and lighting.
  • If your niche is productivity – people buy planners, bullet journals, pomodoro timers, accountability memberships and project management tools, like Asana or Trello.

People in your niche DO buy niche-related things…

But here’s the important thing to note…

...they buy niche-related things which solve a specific problem AND where they can see a genuine need for those things.

To be successful in the digital product space you simply need to do the same – solve a problem and communicate clearly WHY your audience need your product and HOW it solves their problem.

People want to pay for something that saves them time, gives them a shortcut, or helps them solve a nagging problem quickly and easily.

The reason many digital products fail is because they either didn’t solve a problem OR the creator didn’t make it clear to their audience WHY they needed it and HOW it would fix the problem.

And you don’t have to start with a huge signature course.

Your first product can be tiny – even $7, $9 or $19 – just to test the waters.

And the best part?

Once someone buys from you once, they’re far more likely to buy again from you!

PROBLEM #3: “Everything I could create is already out there – and better!”

This IS partially true… there are a lot of great digital products out there.

But here’s the thing…

…nobody can be YOU!

Nobody has exactly your personality, your opinions, your expertise and your ‘take’ on your niche.

When it comes to digital products – people buy from people they know, like and trust.

People don’t just buy a product to fix their problem, they buy into YOUR philosophy, YOUR way of doing things, YOUR take on your niche, YOUR personality, and because they like YOU!

That means you can create a product that is quite similar to several other products out there… and it will sell well, because you have taken the time to nurture your audience and they want to buy from YOU! Not some other person out there who they don’t know from Adam.

Case in point, every digital product I sell is not ‘unique’ – there are other people out there who have courses, ebooks and memberships on how to start a blog, SEO, email marketing, digital products and productivity… yet over 3,200 people have chosen to buy MY programs because they like MY style, MY take, MY opinions, MY personality and MY way of doing things!

Let me give you an example…

Let’s use the Digital Product Success Academy as an example to illustrate these points...

It’s a membership packed with practical challenges, templates and trainings – all designed to help bloggers and online business owners go from “I don’t even know what I could sell” to “I have a successful digital product business and I’m earning consistently!”

Why is it successful?

Because it solves specific, real-world problems that my audience actually face. It’s built around the exact questions and roadblocks I kept hearing over and over again – things like:

#1: The “I’m scared I’m going to lose all my traffic” problem

Google traffic is becoming less and less reliable, and many bloggers are seeing their traffic drop – thanks to Google updates, AI Overviews, AI blogs and tools like ChatGPT.

The old “get lots of traffic, then monetize with ads” model just isn’t working like it used to.

DPSA offers a better business model – one that doesn’t rely on high traffic volumes and other people’s algorithms.

#2: The “I just don’t know how to do this” problem

A lot of bloggers think they can just quickly whip up an ebook, pop it on their site, send one email about it, mention it a couple of times on their socials… and boom! Sales.

But that’s just not how it works. To succeed, you need to create the right product for your audience… plus a plan to launch it, price it, promote it, and keep selling it consistently.

DPSA breaks down the whole process step-by-step, so you’re never left wondering what to do next.

#3: The “I feel so overwhelmed” problem
Because creating and selling a digital product is a lot more complicated than most people realise, it’s easy to get stuck, confused, or just give up before you’ve really started.

DPSA solves that by giving you a clear roadmap, super-motivating challenges, built-in accountability, and a supportive community (including direct help from me!)

#4: The REAL problem

The best digital products don’t solve the problem your audience THINKS they have, they solve the problem they REALLY have.

Many bloggers think they just need some new “SEO secret sauce” to keep getting more traffic from Google. Or a totally different source of traffic to replace Google. Or simply to “get back in Google’s good books”.

But let’s be honest… nobody really wants traffic - what bloggers really want is a reliable income, more freedom, and less stress.

That’s what DPSA is really about – helping you build a digital product business that gives you income, control and freedom, without having to worry about Google updates, AI Overviews, AI blogs, ChatGPT or someone else’s algorithm.

Better still, it’s delivered in bite-sized, achievable, step-by-step challenges, designed with time-poor bloggers in mind.

But the DPSA is not the only resource out there that teaches market research, lead magnets, digital products, launching, tripwires, funnels and other sales strategies. Far from it.

So why do people choose the DPSA?

Because it also reflects my approach – I’ve designed every challenge, every resource, every training and every template to reflect my no-fluff, no-overwhelm, no-jargon approach – delivering clear, practical guidance in manageable steps, with tons of encouragement, motivation, support and accountability built in.

So, to sum up...

You don’t need a genius idea. You just need to solve a specific problem that your audience is struggling with right now.

You don’t need a huge audience or fancy tech. You just need to do the right things in the right order (which is exactly what I teach in the DPSA!)

You don’t need to be the best or the first. You just need to be YOU.

Happy digital product empire building!

Eb 😊
